About The Position

The Senior Intake & Eligibility Specialist supports the delivery of comprehensive intake and eligibility services within San Diego Workforce Partnership. This role provides advanced eligibility review, coaching support to peers, and subject matter expertise in the implementation of Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA), EDD and DOL. In addition, the Senior I&E Specialist acts as a resource for troubleshooting complex eligibility screenings, reviewing documentation, and helping maintain compliance with program policies and performance standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in human services, business, social work, or related field experience.
  • 3-4 years of experience in workforce development, case management, or eligibility-based programs.
  • Strong working knowledge of WIOA eligibility, CalJOBS, and documentation standards.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide technical guidance to peers and support operational consistency.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and client data systems (e.g., Salesforce, CalJOBS).
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct intake and eligibility assessments for WIOA and partner programs across multiple channels (in-person, phone, virtual).
  • Review participant eligibility documentation for accuracy and completeness, providing quality assurance checks when needed.
  • Stay current with SDWP, EDD, and DOL policy changes and assist with disseminating relevant updates to team members and participants.
  • Support intake and orientation sessions, including re-enrollment and dual enrollment efforts with partner programs.
  • Provide guidance and informal mentoring to Intake & Eligibility Specialists on documentation standards, data entry, and client communication.
  • Provide technical support with CalJOBS, Salesforce, and eFile entries and report issues to IT Team as needed.
  • Track and report on intake metrics, enrollment progress, and program compliance goals.
  • Maintain confidentiality and data integrity in accordance with privacy and regulatory standards.
  • Collaborate with Career Navigators, Training Coordinators, Business and Community Representatives, and community partners to ensure accurate and timely enrollment and service alignment.
  • Represent the intake & eligibility team in meetings, trainings, and stakeholder discussions as assigned. This includes serving as a representative of SDWP at community events, job fairs and other public engagements to support collaboration and promote program expansion in the community.
  • Assist Career Center Managers in developing training and onboarding material for the Intake & Eligibility Specialist role, as well as in coaching and providing ongoing training to current Intake & Eligibility Specialists.
  • Provide support to the Center Manager by conducting second reviews of eligibility files, as needed, to ensure compliance and accuracy.
  • Support Intake & Eligibility Specialists by assisting with high-need or complex customer service situations, helping to resolve issues and ensure a positive participant experience.
  • Contribute to peer reviews and internal audits to help maintain service quality and ensure adherence to program compliance standards.
  • Help identify service gaps or process improvements and make recommendations to leadership.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
