About The Position

This role is responsible for managing insurance claims and related processes. The Senior Insurance and Claims Manager will maintain accurate files and databases, serve as a subject matter expert for various insurance programs and funds, and act as a liaison between the company and external insurance entities. The position involves overseeing the entire claims process, from initiation to resolution, with a focus on efficiency, accuracy, and compliance. Additionally, the role requires identifying areas for process improvement and risk mitigation.

Requirements

7-10 years of experience in commercial property and casualty insurance (with either broker or insurance carrier), or self-insured public health care company
Bachelor's degree in business, finance and/or economics preferred or equivalent work experience
Insurance license preferred
Proficiency in insurance claims management software and systems
Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and other productivity tools
Detail Oriented - Capable of carrying out a given task with all details necessary to get the task done well

Basic understanding of claims management for all lines of coverage

Partnering with carriers and third-party claims administrator for loss prevention and claims management

Responsibilities

Maintains accurate and current files and databases
Manages RMIS (RisKonnect) and is subject matter expert
Serves as liaison between OH BWC and SP
Maintains SharePoint site
Subject matter expert for patient compensation funds
Participates in reconciling audits performed by insurance carriers and is familiar with large retention insurance programs across multiple lines of coverage
Functions as an insurance liaison, advisor and resource person for department administrators, and other personnel
Oversee the processing of insurance claims, ensuring that all claims are handled efficiently, accurately, and in compliance with applicable laws and regulations
Proactively manages claims from start to finish, identifying any potential issues or delays, financial implications, and ensuring timely resolution
Identifies area for process improvement and risk mitigation
