About The Position

American Freedom Insurance Company (AFIC) is a fast-growing, A+ Superior-rated nonstandard auto insurer operating in Illinois, Indiana, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Texas, and licensed in Ohio. As our Claims Manager, you will lead and shape the success of our claims department, focusing on efficiency, cost control, and exceptional service. Experience handling Private Passenger Auto claims in Indiana and Pennsylvania a plus, but not required.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree or higher
Minimum 3 years of relevant claims management experience
Nonstandard auto insurance experience beneficial
Strong customer service skills and fast-track claim processing expertise
Skilled at negotiating with attorneys and pro se litigants
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
Proficient with technology and coverage/liability analysis
High level of responsibility, problem-solving, and organizational skills

Nice To Haves

Experience handling Private Passenger Auto claims in Indiana and Pennsylvania
IL, TN, or TX experience a plus
Bilingual Spanish preferred

Responsibilities

Manage and motivate claims staff, ensuring workflow, workload, and service levels are met efficiently.
Develop strategies to reduce loss costs and ensure efficient claim processing.
Set and measure performance indicators to ensure accountability and team success.
Monitor and ensure regulatory compliance and minimize complaints.
Oversee, evaluate, and authorize claims, keeping high priority cases closely monitored.
Coach adjusters to meet or exceed service objectives and regulatory standards.
Negotiate claims, achieve favorable outcomes, and minimize expenses.
Foster collaboration within the Claims Department, working closely with staff, supervisors, and managers.
Identify opportunities to improve processes and ensure operational excellence.
