About The Position

This role involves evaluating, selecting, specifying, and designing Water/Wastewater Instrumentation and Controls (I&C) systems. The designer will be responsible for designing and delivering electrical, I&C systems for water and wastewater collection, treatment, and pumping stations. This includes conducting I&C engineering and analyses for various water, wastewater, and industrial waste treatment facilities. The position requires preparing reports, studies, specifications, drawings, and design electrical components and engineering documents. Additionally, the role involves preparing and revising documentation in various phases, including site plans, floor plans, diagrams, schematics, and details. Completing field reviews of designs under construction and preparing construction review documentation are also key responsibilities. The designer will conduct project coordination meetings with internal team members, external consultants, owners, contractors, sub-contractors, and vendors.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Electronic Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Instrumentation & Control Systems Engineering, or a related field, and 10 years of post-bachelor’s, progressive related work experience; OR a Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Electronic Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Instrumentation & Control Systems Engineering, or a related field, and 8 years of related work experience.
8 years of experience with Distributed Control Systems, Programmable Logic Controllers, Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition systems, process automation systems within the Water/Wastewater Industry.
8 years of experience with Design of Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID).
8 years of experience Designing electrical components and control system networks utilizing communication protocols, including Ethernet, Modbus or Process Field Bus (PROFIBUS).
8 years of experience Using the Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) construction management platform.

Responsibilities

Evaluate, select, specify, and design Water/Wastewater Instrumentation and Controls (I&C) systems.
Design and deliver electrical, I&C systems for water and wastewater collection, treatment and pumping stations.
Conduct I&C engineering and analyses related to various water, wastewater, and industrial waste treatment facilities.
Prepare reports, studies, specifications, drawings, and design electrical components and engineering documents.
Prepare and revise documentation in various phases including site plans, floor plans, diagrams, schematics, and details.
Complete field reviews of designs under construction and prepare construction review documentation.
Conduct project coordination meetings with internal team members and/or external consultants, owner and contractor, sub-contractors, and vendors.
