About The Position

Dominion Energy is seeking a Senior Instructor for their Nuclear Chemistry technical training program. This role involves developing instructional materials and conducting training, requiring in-depth knowledge of instructional design theory and expertise in the technical area. The incumbent will analyze, design, develop, implement, and evaluate training in classroom, laboratory, and on-the-job settings. A key responsibility is maintaining training programs in accordance with nuclear industry, regulatory, and legal requirements. Military service members and veterans with specific ranks and experience are encouraged to apply.

Requirements

  • 12+ years of related experience OR; Certified Instructor (including 5+ years of experience) OR; RO or SRO (including 5+ years of experience) OR; Sr Instructor Training Cert from Dominion (including 5+ years of experience)
  • In-depth knowledge of instructional theory and design and SAT
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Good personal computer skills
  • Ability to operate various instrumentation and controls
  • Problem-solving skills
  • Ability to analyze and develop training materials
  • Ability to train and lead others
  • Ability to interface with regulatory personnel and industry peers
  • Informal leadership skills
  • Ability to effectively communicate with regulators
  • High school diploma
  • Minimum of 2 years of related experience
  • Minimum of 0.25 years of nuclear power plant experience
  • Demonstrated knowledge of instructional techniques through training or experience
  • Certified as a qualified instructor for the material being presented
  • For instructors of licensed personnel providing simulator instruction: shall hold, or shall have held, a senior operator's license or have been certified for equivalent senior operator knowledge.

Responsibilities

  • Develop instructional materials for the Chemistry technical training program.
  • Conduct training for the Chemistry technical training program.
  • Analyze, design, develop, implement, and evaluate training in the classroom, laboratory, and on-the-job.
  • Maintain training programs in accordance with nuclear industry, regulatory, and legal requirements.
  • Provide instruction on the simulator for licensed personnel.
