About The Position

Candidly is seeking a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to lead the design, implementation, and ongoing evolution of cloud infrastructure supporting its AI and SaaS products. The role partners with engineering leadership and cross-functional teams to align infrastructure strategy with product and business goals, shape technical standards and reliability practices, and strengthen the company’s operational culture. The engineer is expected to take ownership of problems end to end, identify improvements proactively, and contribute to the effectiveness of the broader engineering team. The position covers cloud architecture across AWS and Azure, infrastructure as code, CI/CD, automated deployments, containerization, observability, incident response, and improvements to the software development lifecycle. The role also involves identifying infrastructure risks and gaps, leading incident reviews focused on systemic improvements, and helping ensure infrastructure remains scalable, secure, resilient, and reliable.

Requirements

  • 5–7+ years of hands-on experience in cloud infrastructure, DevOps, or Site Reliability Engineering (SRE).
  • Expert-level AWS knowledge, including EC2, ELB, ASG, RDS, S3, SQS, Lambda, IAM, VPC, CloudFormation, CDK, and Route 53.
  • Solid understanding of Linux administration and networking concepts, including VPNs, VPC peering, NAT, DNS, and firewalls.
  • Deep experience with infrastructure as code for container orchestration at scale using CloudFormation, AWS CDK, Docker, and Kubernetes.
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills, including the ability to explain tradeoffs to engineers and stakeholders.
  • Comfort working remotely and independently.
  • Moderate-level Azure experience and comfort operating across multi-cloud and multi-region environments.
  • Expertise in CI/CD pipelines, such as AWS CodePipeline, GitLab CI, or similar.
  • Strong proficiency in scripting and automation using Python, Bash, and Ansible.
  • Deep understanding of monitoring and logging systems and strategies, including AWS CloudWatch, Datadog, and Azure Monitor.
  • Hands-on experience with high-availability architectures and auto-scaling strategies.
  • Solid grasp of AWS security best practices, including IAM, encryption, Secrets Manager, and security auditing.
  • Experience with databases, including MySQL, Postgres, and Redshift.
  • Familiarity with serverless architectures, including AWS Lambda and Fargate.
  • Knowledge of database replication strategies.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a high-growth, regulated industry such as Fintech, particularly architecting and scaling infrastructure to maintain reliability and compliance amid rapid user and transaction growth.
  • Proven technical leadership experience, including improving infrastructure processes.
  • AWS Professional-level certifications, such as Solutions Architect Professional or DevOps Engineer Professional.
  • Knowledge of event-driven architectures, including SNS, SQS, and EventBridge.
  • Experience with AWS environment cost optimization strategies.
  • Experience with compliance frameworks, including SOC, NIST, ISO, CCPA, and GDPR.
  • Experience integrating AWS services with third-party observability and security tools.
  • Experience with single-tenant and multi-tenant architectures, as well as client on-premises deployment systems.
  • Familiarity with scalable, reproducible ML pipelines, tools, and frameworks such as Kubeflow, MLflow, and Amazon SageMaker.
  • Data engineering experience and experience with large-scale data processing and storage.
  • Knowledge of Jira and Confluence, including best practices for ticket management and KPI tracking.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and implementation of scalable, secure, and resilient cloud infrastructure across AWS and Azure for Candidly’s AI and SaaS products.
  • Drive infrastructure architectural vision and strategy in alignment with long-term business goals, surfacing risks proactively.
  • Own and enforce best practices for infrastructure as code (IaC), CI/CD, and automated deployments.
  • Automate and accelerate SDLC processes by identifying bottlenecks and designing solutions, including AI-assisted tooling or traditional automation.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on cloud architecture, containerization, and observability.
  • Lead incident response and post-mortems, emphasizing systemic improvement rather than only immediate fixes.
  • Proactively identify and close infrastructure gaps before they compound.
