About The Position

The Senior Infection Preventionist for Providence Oregon Shared Services at Hood River Memorial Hospital in Hood River, OR is a Full-Time, Day Shift position. The Infection Prevention Expert is expected to work autonomously and serve as a mentor to other infection preventionists. All Infection Preventionists (IPs) are accountable for the implementation of and compliance with policies, practices, and processes of the infection prevention program at the facility, region, division, and system level. In collaboration with IP leadership, IP medical director, and IP peers, all IPs will follow all current local, state, and federal guidelines, standards, and regulations. IPs provide infection prevention consultative services focused on delivering the highest quality care at the lowest cost to patients and the organization. Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, Public Health, Lab Sciences, Microbiology, or related health sciences field.
  • National Certified in Infection Control - Certification Board of Infection Control and Epidemiology (upon hire).
  • 5 years of Healthcare experience.
  • 5 years of Epidemiology or Infection Prevention experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's Degree in Nursing, Public Health, Lab Sciences, Microbiology, or related health sciences field.
  • Fellow of the Association for Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology (FAPIC) (within 2 years of hire).
  • Advanced Leadership Certification in IPC (AL-CIP) (within 2 years of hire).
  • 10 or more years of Healthcare experience.
  • 10 or more years of Epidemiology or Infection Prevention experience.

Responsibilities
