About The Position
Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS) is looking for a Senior Industrial Engineer (Level 4) to join our team in Smithfield and Lemont Furnace, Pennsylvania. This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location options.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
- 9+ years of experience with Industrial Engineering or a similar role (i.e. Production Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, etc.)
- Experience with Industrial Engineering information systems and tools
- Experience using Microsoft Office Tools, Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- Must meet U.S. export control compliance requirements. To meet U.S. export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.62 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
- Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Responsibilities
- Applies advanced industrial engineering concepts, approaches and techniques to product, process and services to meet program requirements
- Reviews the development of complex plant and equipment layouts, capacity plans, accident prevention measures, sequencing of operations and work flows
- Identifies new techniques and technological developments for integration into the production process and service operations
- Designs, maintains, and optimizes the production system by integrating design, supply base, facilities, equipment, and personnel
- Reviews work flow design and analysis
- Leads the development of models, databases and spreadsheets to analyze data and provides summary analysis and metrics for consultation to leader and customers
- Leads research, design, development, improvement, and implementation of processes and tools to enhance schedule performance, lower cost, and improve quality, for large scale systems integration and asset utilization
- Reviews plans and programs for facility/factory modifications and revisions to operating methods
- Evaluates product assembly instructions and standardizes assembly practices
- Leads operations planning, includes work statement analysis, budgeting and forecasts, capacity and constraint analysis and production change, to ensure technical goals and objectives are met
- Leads execution planning by using project management, planning and scheduling and shop load practices
- Monitors production, performance visibility and recovery planning support
- Ensures compliance with established industry safety, design standards and ergonomic guidelines
