About The Position

The Senior Industrial Designer at Tekna develops solutions that address identified user needs while helping clients meet their business objectives. The work may use market, ergonomic, and user-scenario research; sketching; rendering; study models; computer models; and final production-quality prototypes. The role works with Design and Engineering Leads to understand client objectives, shape project approaches and strategies, conduct research, and preserve clients’ corporate look and feel through material selection, color palettes, design elements, and form vocabulary. Tekna is a client-focused design and manufacturing business serving medical, life science, consumer, industrial, electronics, and appliance markets. Its cross-functional teams include Design Engineering, Industrial Design, CAD, Procurement, Production, and Quality. Requirements

Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) or Bachelor of Science in Industrial Design (BSID).
3–5 years of experience in corporate or consulting environments.
Strong written and verbal interpersonal communication skills.
Exceptional organizational skills and a proven ability to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

Work with Design and Engineering Leads to scope projects and understand clients’ business objectives.
Assist in developing project work approaches and strategies.
Participate in and lead a variety of research activities.
Demonstrate a high skill level in fundamental design tools and practices.
Maintain clients’ corporate look and feel through material selection, color palettes, specific design elements, and form vocabulary.
Develop design solutions using research, sketching, rendering, study models, computer models, and production-quality prototypes.
