About The Position

Milwaukee Tool is seeking an experienced Senior Industrial Designer to join its in-house design team. The Senior Industrial Designer leads design work on strategic and complex programs, sometimes delegating and mentoring other designers. The role develops concepts through competitive assessments, field visits, awareness of design trends, and ideation, then communicates design intent through visual storytelling and study models. It develops concepts using 2D sketching, technical illustrations, renderings, 3D CAD, and appearance design proposals, which are reviewed through a phase-gate process to gain cross-functional consensus. The designer follows solutions through pre-production, creating specifications for CFM requirements, product graphics, and UI. They work closely with process partners to weigh cost, schedule, and performance considerations related to construction and assembly. Collaboration with product management and engineering is essential, as is participation in project meetings and teleconferences and leadership of design reviews with process partners and design peers. The role also balances concurrent project workloads and mentors other designers. Domestic and international travel may be required.
