About The Position

Join Lonza in Vacaville, California, as a Senior Import/Export Logistics Trade Analyst and play a critical role in supporting the global movement of life-changing therapies. In this highly visible position, you will help ensure international trade compliance, optimize cross-border logistics operations, and drive continuous improvements that support our global supply chain and customers. This is a fully site‑based role. Working together in person supports close, real‑time collaboration and the technical precision needed to manufacture medicines to the highest quality and safety standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, International Trade, or a related field; equivalent experience will also be considered.
  • Advanced experience in supply chain logistics, international transportation, and global trade compliance.
  • Strong knowledge of import/export regulations, customs requirements, and applicable government agency regulations.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and improve international logistics operations while ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Experience analyzing logistics, trade, and compliance data to support risk mitigation, cost optimization, and operational improvements.
  • Proven success managing relationships with logistics service providers, including carriers, customs brokers, freight forwarders, and third-party logistics partners.

Nice To Haves

  • Professional certifications such as APICS CLTD, import/customs compliance, or export regulatory certifications are preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with Lonza policies and international trade regulations by reviewing import/export transactions, customs documentation, and declarations.
  • Optimize the cross-border movement of materials and products by auditing logistics processes, service provider activities, and trade documentation.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate risks related to trade compliance, customs requirements, supply chain disruptions, and Incoterms responsibilities.
  • Provide operational oversight for shipments, including monitoring, tracking, issue resolution, and coordination with carriers, customs brokers, freight forwarders, and 3PL partners.
  • Develop and maintain local work instructions aligned with global policies, while educating internal stakeholders on trade compliance, SAP processes, transportation requirements, and regulatory expectations.
  • Manage and evaluate third-party logistics providers through performance reviews, KPI tracking, audits, and continuous service improvement initiatives.
  • Analyze logistics and trade data to identify efficiency opportunities, improve compliance, reduce risk, and support strategic decision-making across the supply chain.
