About The Position
The Senior Import/Export Coordinator is responsible for overseeing and executing complex international logistics activities to ensure the compliant, timely, and cost‑effective movement of goods across global markets. This role serves as a subject‑matter expert in trade compliance, customs regulations, and international transportation.
Requirements
- 7+ years of progressive experience in import/export operations, international logistics, or trade compliance.
- Prior experience in a senior, lead, or specialist‑level logistics role strongly preferred.
Responsibilities
- Manage and coordinate end‑to‑end import and export operations for high‑value, time‑sensitive, or regulated shipments.
- Prepare, review, and approve all required international shipping documentation, including commercial invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin, bills of lading, and export declarations.
- Collaborate with Legal to ensure full compliance with U.S. and international trade regulations, including CBP, EAR, ITAR, OFAC, and other governing bodies.
- Perform advanced product classification using HTS and ECCN codes; maintain classification databases and documentation.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for freight forwarders, customs brokers, and carriers to resolve escalated issues.
- Monitor global trade regulatory changes and advise management on potential impacts to operations.
- Lead investigations and resolution of complex shipment delays, customs holds, and compliance discrepancies.
- Support internal audits, external audits, and trade compliance assessments; maintain accurate and complete records for regulatory retention.
- Collaborate with Procurement, Operations, Warehouse, and Finance to support sourcing decisions, inventory planning, and cost control initiatives.
- Analyze freight spend, identify cost‑saving opportunities, and recommend process improvements to enhance logistics efficiency.
- Provide training, guidance, and mentorship to junior logistics or import/export staff.
- Participate in cross‑functional projects related to supply chain optimization, system enhancements, and compliance initiatives.
