Senior ICT Engineer for infrastructure - FCI (VMware Cloud Foundation) (m/f/d)
About The Position
The Senior ICT Engineer will be responsible for performing, coordinating, and improving complex activities (3rd level environment) needed to provide IT services and the supporting infrastructure to fulfill relevant KPIs. This role involves planning, implementing, and maintaining a stable technical infrastructure to support the organization’s business processes, identifying weaknesses in used processes, and eliminating them according to industry and internal standards. The engineer will also be responsible for diagnosing and resolving complex tickets or escalating them, investigating the root cause of complex incidents, and initiating actions for improvement. Additionally, the role includes evaluating, authorizing, prioritizing, planning, implementing, documenting, and reviewing complex changes in a controlled manner, as well as creating and maintaining technical documentation.
Requirements
- Experience at ICT System Engineering
- Advanced knowledge of Virtualization platform, Windows, Linux, Network, Storage
- Analytical thinking, training and mentoring skills, team cooperation skills
- Knowledge of the ITIL processes
- Willingness to participate on on-call duties
- English at least on B2 level
Nice To Haves
- Experience with VMware Cloud Foundation (VMware Cloud Foundation)
- Experience with ESXi, vSphere, vSAN, NSX-T, vROPS, HCX
Responsibilities
- Plan, implement and maintain a stable technical infrastructure.
- Diagnose and resolve complex tickets or escalate complex tickets with direct/potential impact related to IT infrastructure.
- Investigate the root cause of complex incidents and then initiate actions to improve or correct the situation.
- Evaluate, authorize, prioritize, plan, implement, document and review complex changes in controlled manner or escalate to higher authorities.
- Create and maintain technical documentation to support IT service.
