About The Position

AECOM’s Technology Solutions Group is seeking a Senior Information & Communication Technologies (ICT) Consultant to join its ICT Data Center Team. This remote position is open to candidates across the United States, with a hybrid option for candidates near an AECOM office. The consultant will apply technical knowledge and a focus area to data center ICT infrastructure projects, understand client business practices and goals, and develop solutions to client problems. The role includes overseeing ICT consultants, designers, and BIM specialists to deliver constructable design documents on schedule, defining work plans and tasks, and providing guidance to internal mid-level consultants and production staff. Work is performed with minimal supervision and in accordance with agreed budgets and schedules. The position covers ICT design and consulting for hyper-scale and enterprise data centers, structured cabling systems, campus and wide area networks, passive optical networks, and outside plant. Assignments may include surveying, design, development, and construction administration, as well as gathering and correlating engineering data and completing detailed or routine design and consulting work. The role may also involve specific or limited ICT design and consulting duties within a larger data center design team. AECOM’s Buildings + Places practice provides services across architecture, interiors, building engineering, workplace strategy, business transformation, asset advisory, economics and development planning, master planning, urban planning, and landscape architecture. Requirements

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university plus eight years of relevant experience, or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
Data center design experience with ICT infrastructure.
Current BICSI Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD) certification.
U.S. citizenship or lawful permanent residency (Green Card) is required.

Nice To Haves

Five years of hyper-scale data center design experience with ICT infrastructure.
Other active BICSI certifications; BICSI DCDC certification is a plus.
Professional experience or proficiency with Revit, AutoCAD, Visio Professional, Bluebeam Extreme (Revu), Microsoft Project, Microsoft 365 Suite, and other ICT-specific programs.
Professional experience or proficiency with applicable codes, standards, and regulations, including permitting, state and local ordinances, IEEE C2 (National Electrical Safety Code), OSHA 1910 standards, TIA cabling standards, TIA data center standards, and BICSI TDMM and other manuals.

Responsibilities

Oversee ICT consultants, designers, and BIM specialists to produce quality, constructable data center design documents on schedule.
Create work plans and task definitions under general direction.
Develop and formulate solutions to data center client problems on assigned projects.
Apply in-depth knowledge of data center ICT infrastructure to complex and unique assignments, including survey, design, development, and construction administration.
Perform ICT design and consulting for hyper-scale and enterprise data centers, structured cabling systems, campus and wide area networks, passive optical networks, and outside plant.
Perform specific or limited ICT design and consulting duties as part of a larger data center design team.
Gather and correlate engineering data using established procedures.
Complete detailed and routine design or consulting assignments and propose solutions to new or complex problems.
Provide guidance and direction to internal mid-level consultants and production staff.
Perform work with minimal supervision in accordance with agreed budgets and schedules.
