About The Position

The Aerospace Corporation is seeking a Senior Hybrid Cloud Engineer for its Enterprise Mission Infrastructure and Platform (EMIP) team within the Defense Systems Group. The position provides matrixed technical and programmatic leadership and support across Space Force program offices, including BMC3I, OTTI, and SWAC. The role delivers cloud architecture, cybersecurity, systems engineering, and acquisition planning and execution support for customers’ current and future cloud environments across classification levels. The engineer translates capability needs into acquisition and development efforts, encouraging integration of emerging technology and rapid acquisition efficiencies. The position is full-time and on-site at the company’s Colorado Springs, Colorado facility, with domestic travel of approximately 10%–15% as required. The selected candidate must hold an active TS/SCI clearance, be able to obtain Special Access (SAP), and be a U.S. citizen. Compensation is listed as an annual range of $166,400 to $249,600.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field or another relevant field.
At least 10 years of progressively responsible experience in architecture for software-intensive systems and cloud computing; space-system experience is preferred.
Cybersecurity certification(s) that meet DoD 8140 requirements.
Hands-on experience with cloud-based platforms and architecture, such as AWS or Microsoft Azure.
Experience leading integrated, multidisciplinary, multi-organizational teams.
Experience developing ground system architectures.
Willingness to travel domestically to support customer needs, approximately 10%–15% as required.
Current and active TS/SCI security clearance, with the ability to obtain Special Access (SAP).
U.S. citizenship, required to obtain a security clearance.

Nice To Haves

Advanced degree in a STEM field or another relevant field.
Experience with processes associated with government system acquisition and lifecycle.
Demonstrated experience developing, integrating, and testing software- and/or data-intensive system architectures.
Demonstrated knowledge of Zero-Trust architecture, Kubernetes, and Infrastructure as Code, such as Ansible, Puppet, Terraform, or other standards-based automation.

Responsibilities

Support EMIP customers in developing cloud and ground architectures, roadmaps, technical capabilities, and products that address warfighter needs.
Lead technology investigations and work with vendors, government partners, other FFRDC organizations, and contractors to prototype, demonstrate, and deliver cyber-secure platform capabilities.
Engage commercial technology leaders to discuss product and technology roadmaps and translate them into strategic opportunities for the National Security Space Ground Enterprise.
Work hands-on with customers and solution providers to prototype, design, and demonstrate cloud computing architectures and services.
Lead innovation in technologies for ground systems spanning the edge to the cloud.
Conduct analysis and testing demonstrations of platform, cloud, and cybersecurity technologies, and coordinate vendor demonstrations on behalf of customers.
Provide effective communication with customers, colleagues, and senior management.
