About The Position

Pretium Packaging is seeking an onsite, hands-on, bilingual (Spanish) Senior Human Resources Manager for its Bethlehem, Pennsylvania plant. This role also includes additional oversight of the Hillsborough, New Jersey plant and its onsite HR Manager. The ideal candidate will thrive at the intersection of people strategy and operational performance, influencing culture, elevating talent, and partnering with plant leadership to shape the future workforce. This is a strategic leadership role in a manufacturing facility, acting as an advisor to plant leadership while championing employees, shaping engagement, retention, safety culture, and leadership capability.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of proven success as an HR Manager in manufacturing or an industrial environment.
  • Stellar communication skills with the ability to challenge plant leadership with humility and manage without direct authority.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to influence operational leaders.
  • Deep expertise in employee relations, talent strategy, and compliance.
  • Strength in HRIS systems (UKG experience is a plus), metrics, and workforce analytics.
  • Exceptional negotiation and relationship-building skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, or related field required.
  • Bilingual Spanish/English ability is required.

Responsibilities

  • Lead an off-site HR Manager.
  • Architect and execute HR strategies aligned to business and operational goals.
  • Orchestrate HR, talent management, recruitment, and performance management resources to fulfill the needs of a growing plant.
  • Partner with plant leadership to drive organizational performance and workforce planning.
  • Provide data-driven insights through HR analytics and reporting.
  • Increase employee retention and satisfaction, reducing turnover.
  • Create and implement staffing and hiring plans and spearhead proactive plantwide workforce planning activities.
  • Conduct on-site job fairs and host external hiring events.
  • Engage with local community-based organizations and initiate continuous outreach activities to increase candidate talent pools.
  • Champion a positive, compliant, and high-performance workplace culture.
  • Lead employee relations, conflict resolution, and engagement initiatives.
  • Bridge communication between leadership and frontline employees.
  • Drive succession planning, leadership development, and retention strategies.
  • Assess training needs and implement workforce development programs.
  • Provide coaching and support to plant leadership in support of employee growth and development.
  • Lead performance management programs that elevate accountability.
  • Partner with corporate HR on compensation and benefits strategy.
  • Ensure adherence to labor laws, HR best practices, and safety standards.
  • Provide support and leadership to ensure a “see something, say something” plant culture exists.
  • Support and reinforce plant safety and employee well-being programs.
