Senior Human Resources Generalist

About The Position

This role serves as a true generalist across the employee lifecycle, handling HR operations, onboarding, and business partnership. The Senior Human Resources Generalist will own end-to-end new hire onboarding, from offer to first 90 days, and act as a resource for employees and managers on HR-related matters. A key responsibility includes maintaining HRIS data integrity, managing immigration case documentation, and supporting core compliance work. The position also involves acting as an HRBP for a subset of teams, planning engagement initiatives, and refining HR processes. Collaboration with Talent Acquisition, Total Rewards, and HRBP teams is essential to ensure a seamless employee experience. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys variety and is comfortable figuring things out.

Requirements

  • 4–7+ years of progressive HR generalist experience spanning HR operations, onboarding, and HR business partnership.
  • A scrappy, roll-up-your-sleeves mindset — comfortable operating without a large team or fully built-out infrastructure.
  • Hands-on HRIS and Rippling experience required.
  • Sound judgment and discretion when handling confidential or sensitive employee matters.
  • Strong process orientation — able to bring structure and consistency to ambiguous or undefined situations.
  • Working knowledge of employment law fundamentals (leave administration, I-9 compliance, multi-state employment).
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust quickly across all levels of the organization.
  • A genuine enjoyment of variety — equally comfortable auditing HRIS data one hour and coaching a manager through a tough conversation the next.
  • Fluent with AI tools and comfortable using them to move faster on the administrative side of HR — with the judgment to know what still needs a human.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a true generalist across the employee lifecycle — rolling up your sleeves on HR operations, onboarding, and business partnership, often all in the same day.
  • Own end-to-end new hire onboarding: offer-to-start logistics, paperwork and compliance, first-day experience, and check-ins through the first 90 days.
  • Be a go-to resource for employees and managers on policies, benefits, payroll questions, and general HR support — with the judgment to know when to escalate.
  • Maintain HRIS (Rippling) data integrity, including employee changes, terminations, org updates, and compliance-related recordkeeping.
  • Own immigration case management and documentation — coordinate visa sponsorship, extensions, and status changes with outside counsel, track key filing deadlines and compliance dates, and maintain accurate records across the employee's immigration lifecycle.
  • Act as an HRBP for a subset of teams — supporting managers with lighter-touch coaching, performance conversations, and employee relations issues.
  • Support core compliance work, including I-9s, leave administration, and state-specific filings across our multi-state workforce.
  • Help plan and execute engagement, culture, and internal communications initiatives that keep people connected as we grow.
  • Build and refine repeatable HR processes and playbooks — turning ad hoc practices into scalable ones as the company matures.
  • Partner with Talent Acquisition, Total Rewards, and HRBP to ensure a seamless, consistent employee experience across functions.
  • Jump into whatever’s needed — this role is built for someone who genuinely enjoys variety and isn’t afraid to figure things out.
