About The Position

Sandy Lane, a AAA Five (5) Diamond, Forbes Five Star exclusive resort and member of the Leading Hotels of the World, is looking to recruit a Senior Human Resources Generalist. The Senior Human Resources Generalist will report to the Director of Human Resources. The incumbent will serve as the functional lead for Employee Relations and support Industrial relations while assisting with all other areas of the HR operation.

Requirements

  • At least a bachelor’s degree in management, or Human Resource Management or a related field with (5-7) years in a similar capacity.
  • At least 5 years’ experience in employee relations or industrial relations.
  • Very strong knowledge of HR policies & procedures along with an in-depth knowledge of employment legislation.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, strong analytical skills with the ability to influence others.
  • Intermediate to advanced computer skills with emphasis on Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent organizational, presentation and effective negotiating skills.
  • The ability to plan and manage time, write reports, keep records, and work within budgets.
  • Ability to build relationships, motivate and influence groups or individuals within a matrix structure.

Responsibilities

  • Partnering with all stakeholders to conceptualize and implement Employee Relations best practices and programs.
  • Assists with managing the Industrial Relations framework within the company.
  • Handles employee complaints, managing grievance procedures, and facilitating counselling.
  • Conduct grievance, investigative and disciplinary hearings as required and assist with the preparation of documentation disciplinary matters.
  • Collating and analyzing employee feedback across all levels on a regular basis and developing people programs and policies to generate more positive outcomes.
  • Manage all employee engagement programs, e.g. events, staff awards, staff social events, employee recognition.
  • Prepares the annual Department calendar of events, event plan and budget for events to be implemented.
  • Assists with drafting communication and preparing advertising and marketing information for events and activities.
  • Manage vendor relationships and associated negotiations.
  • Prepares and conducts training where necessary.
  • Assists with formulating and reviewing policies and ensuring that the information is communicated.
  • Provide advice and guidance to champions and coaches regarding company policies as required.
  • Supports Line Management in the communication process through attendance at Department meetings and briefings.
