About The Position

The Sr. HRIS Specialist is responsible for the administration, configuration, and continuous enablement of the organization's HRIS platform (Paycom), ensuring the system fully supports HR data integrity and end-to-end HR processes. This role partners closely with Talent Management, Recruiting, Payroll, and Benefits to optimize how each function uses Paycom, translating each team's strategic goals into effective system configuration, workflows, and self-service experiences. This is an execution and enablement role: the Sr. HRIS Specialist is not responsible for setting HR strategy but serves as the subject-matter expert who advises functional leaders on how to best use the system to achieve their goals and deliver a seamless experience for employees and managers.

Requirements

  • 4–6+ years of experience administering an HRIS platform (Paycom experience strongly preferred).
  • Demonstrated experience configuring and supporting multiple HR modules (e.g., performance management, recruiting/ATS, payroll, benefits, LMS, ESS/MSS).
  • Strong understanding of HR processes and how they translate into system workflows.
  • Excellent cross-functional collaboration and communication skills; comfortable advising leaders without owning the underlying strategy.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with high attention to data accuracy.
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting succession planning or goal-setting system builds.
  • Experience with survey tool administration (e.g., engagement surveys) within an HRIS.
  • Project management experience for system rollouts or enhancements.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary system administrator for Paycom, ensuring accurate configuration across all HR data modules.
  • Maintain data integrity, security, and compliance across employee records, organizational structures, and system permissions.
  • Monitor system updates/releases from Paycom and assess impact on current configuration and workflows.
  • Troubleshoot system issues, manage support tickets, and serve as the primary liaison with Paycom support.
  • Partner with the Talent Manager to configure, enhance, and maintain performance management, goal planning, and succession planning tools within Paycom.
  • Advise the Talent Manager on system capabilities and best practices to translate talent strategy into functional workflows.
  • Build and test performance review cycles, goal-tracking workflows, and succession planning frameworks within the system.
  • Partner with Recruiting to ensure proper configuration and flow of requisitions from creation through candidate hiring and onboarding.
  • Advise Recruiting leadership on system functionality to optimize requisition approvals, candidate pipelines, and hire-to-onboard handoffs.
  • Troubleshoot workflow breakdowns between recruiting, onboarding, and core HR data.
  • Collaborate with Payroll and Benefits teams to ensure system configuration supports a seamless, error-free employee experience across pay, deductions, and benefits elections.
  • Identify and resolve data flow issues between HR, payroll, and benefits modules.
  • Advise Payroll and Benefits leaders on system tools available to reduce manual work and improve accuracy.
  • Support configuration and enablement of the Learning Management System (LMS) module within Paycom, including course assignment, tracking, and reporting.
  • Enable and configure employee survey tools, including distribution, tracking, and reporting functionality.
  • Design, build, and implement Employee Self-Service (ESS) and Manager Self-Service (MSS) functionality.
  • Ensure self-service tools are intuitive, accurate, and aligned to each department's process needs.
  • Partner with HR and IT to train end users and drive adoption of self-service tools.
  • Act as a trusted system advisor to HR functional leaders (Talent, Recruiting, Payroll, Benefits), translating their strategic goals into practical system solutions.
  • Recommend system configurations, workflows, and process improvements that enhance the end-user (employee and manager) experience.
  • Document system configurations, workflows, and standard operating procedures.
