About The Position

This is not a traditional HR Generalist position. At Installnet, the Senior HR Generalist is the HR department. You are an HR team of one, responsible for the full employee lifecycle at a growing, project-driven organization. You will report directly to the COO and work closely with the Director of Operations. This is a hybrid remote role with periodic in-office presence expected. If you want ownership over policy, performance, culture, and development, and you thrive without a lot of hand-holding, this role was built for you.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business/Management, Psychology, or a related field
  • 5+ years of progressive HR experience with demonstrated ownership across multiple HR functions
  • Proven ability to advise and influence executive and senior leadership
  • Strong HR analytics skills and comfortable building trackers, interpreting workforce data, and presenting findings
  • Experience creating HR policy, leading performance management processes, and managing employee relations matters
  • Working knowledge of FMLA, ADA, FLSA, ADEA, and related employment law
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word); experience with HRIS platforms
  • Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and make sound decisions without a playbook

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Management, or related field
  • SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification
  • Experience in a construction, project management, facilities, or field-service industry
  • Familiarity with Paylocity or comparable HRIS/payroll platform
  • Experience designing or facilitating leadership development programs

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to the COO, Director of Operations, and senior leadership on all people-related decisions
  • Present HR metrics and workforce trends to leadership monthly
  • Build and maintain data trackers and dashboards that turn raw data into actionable insight
  • Drive Installnet's culture strategy, including leading the culture committee and administering engagement surveys
  • Design and execute employee recognition, milestone, and celebration programs
  • Present to the full staff monthly, modeling transparent communication and reinforcing company values
  • Own the full performance review cycle from competency framework design through calibration support
  • Build and administer KPI-linked review tools tailored to each role family across the organization
  • Coach managers through performance conversations, development planning, and accountability documentation
  • Design and lead employee development programs, including leadership development for managers transitioning into people leadership
  • Identify skill gaps, source learning resources, and track development progress across the organization
  • Administer professional development reimbursement programs and educational assistance benefits
  • Lead full-cycle recruiting: job postings, sourcing, interview coordination, candidate assessment, and offer management
  • Build and continuously improve a structured onboarding experience
  • Set new hires up for success from day one through intentional orientation and integration
  • Develop and maintain interview guides, competency-based screening tools, and candidate evaluation frameworks
  • Draft, update, and administer company-wide HR policies, including the employee handbook
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment law (FMLA, ADA, FLSA, ADEA, and related regulations)
  • Manage leave administration, accommodations, and complex employee relations matters with sound judgment and appropriate documentation
  • Lead compensation benchmarking, pay band development, and annual compensation strategy in partnership with the COO
  • Coordinate benefits administration and open enrollment, serving as the primary point of contact for employees
  • Serve as backup for biweekly payroll processing, including updates to employee records, deductions, and benefit changes
  • Maintain the integrity of all employee data in Paylocity (HRIS), including audits, document libraries, and workflow configuration
  • Oversee HR administrative functions including onboarding data entry, exit interviews, and personnel file management
