About The Position

Support the HR function for DPG’s West Lafayette facility. Collaborates with Dayton HR and WL Leadership Team on a regular basis to develop and maintain an employee experience consistent with the Company’s purpose and values.

  • SHRM Certification a plus.
  • Bilingual (Spanish) a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Establish regular communication with Dayton HR to ensure timely exchange of information and to maintain consistency in Company philosophy.
  • Establish at least two days per week, on a consistent and recurring schedule, as days for in-person availability for third shift employees.
  • Serve as a liaison between management and employees by answering employee questions about policies, procedures and programs (including benefits) and helping resolve work-related issues and concerns.
  • Monitor Federal, State and Local employment laws and regulations, advise management of any changes.
  • Responsible for all Human Resources reporting requirements, both Corporate and government-required.
  • Conduct internal investigations as needed and participate in personnel-related hearings and external investigations as needed.
  • Advise management as to appropriate resolution of employee relations issues.
  • Work with the Dayton HR & WL Leadership Team to determine appropriate pay levels and pay increases.
  • Manage the process for recruiting, interviewing, testing and hiring of employees to ensure consistency and compliance.
  • Manage the end of employment process for both voluntary and involuntary terminations, ensuring all appropriate documentation is completed, including employee separation notices and exit interviews, when appropriate.
  • Maintain all employee files, including personnel, payroll, medical, benefits, and Workers Compensation files.
  • Coordinate and conduct HR-related training and manage training records.
  • Manage the production floor performance management process, working with the WL Leadership Team to develop effective performance management tools.
  • Responsible for ensuring that time sheets are approved and submitted to Payroll in a timely manner.
  • Coordinate with Safety to ensure complete investigations of all accidents and injuries, accurate and full completion of all necessary paperwork, and compliance with all recordkeeping requirements.
  • Take part in the Employee Activities Committee to ensure sufficient membership level and proper planning and execution of events.
  • Ensure regular and up-to-date communication with employees about Company news, updates and events through Newsletter, break area scrolling, and other audio/visual means.
  • Prepare annual Human Resources Department operations budget.
  • Other related duties may be assigned.
