About The Position

Reporting to the Human Resources Compliance Manager, the Senior Human Resources Compliance Specialist plays a pivotal role in supporting the execution, oversight, and continuous improvement of compliance management programs within the Human Resources division across the U.S. in a matrix organization. This strategic role will monitor complex employment law changes, assess organizational risks, and partner with stakeholders to develop mitigation strategies that protect RBC US and strengthen our employer reputation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent
  • 5–7 years of progressive human resources and employment compliance experience within a multistate corporate environment
  • Deep knowledge of employment and labor laws, government regulations, and agency requirements
  • Proven ability to implement and monitor effective compliance programs
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder influence skills at all organizational levels
  • Advanced Excel and Microsoft Office proficiency
  • Strong analytical and detail-oriented mindset with high accuracy standards
  • Ability to manage multiple complex projects independently while thriving under pressure
  • High integrity, discretion, and sound professional judgment

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of state and federal employment laws, regulations and industry trends and best practices related to Human Resources
  • Ability to identify compliance risks related to HR functional areas and competently and clearly advise on applicable practices and processes.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct horizon scanning to identify federal, state, and local employment law changes and assess their organizational impact
  • Manage vendor partnerships and coordinate labor law poster compliance across all U.S. jurisdictions
  • Lead HR compliance reporting initiatives including EEO-1, VETS 4212, Census Bureau Surveys, OFCCP audits, and state pay data submissions
  • Interpret and apply regulations and HR policies in partnership with HR, Legal, and 2LOD teams
  • Champion continuous improvement initiatives across HR processes and program delivery
  • Gather and analyze internal and external audit results as part of HR's first line of defense as well as part of the FDICIA, SOX, and internal audit processes. Communicate with HR leadership audit outcomes and any expected follow-up actions.
