About The Position

Saber Power Services seeks a Senior HR Business Partner – Field Operations to provide practical, experienced HR partnership to leaders and employees across our business, with a primary focus on supporting our geographically dispersed field operations. The Senior HR Business Partner – Field Operations serves as a trusted advisor to business and operational leaders, helping them build strong teams, navigate workforce challenges, and make sound people decisions in a project-based, safety-focused environment. This is a broad HR Business Partner role with particular emphasis on employee relations, investigations, employment practices, and workforce risk. The Senior HR Business Partner will support leaders throughout the employee lifecycle, including performance and talent management, employee development and engagement, workforce planning, organizational change, policy application, and compliance. Success in this role requires mature judgment, credibility with operational leaders, and the ability to balance employee needs, sound employment practices, operational realities, and the company's business and risk-management objectives. Reporting directly to the senior HR leader, this is an individual contributor role that may also provide informal coaching and mentorship to developing HR team members. Occasional travel to field or project locations may be required based on business needs.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated success in an HR Business Partner, HR Manager, Employee Relations, or similar role supporting field-based, industrial, construction, engineering, or other operational workforces.
  • Experience supporting hourly and geographically dispersed employees and independently managing employee relations matters and workplace investigations.
  • Strong knowledge of employment practices with the ability to recognize and appropriately respond to compliance, employee relations, and business risk.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish credibility with operational leaders, provide practical recommendations, and appropriately challenge decisions when necessary.
  • Strong judgment, communication, and documentation skills, including the ability to navigate complex or ambiguous employee situations.
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of relevant education, training, and experience.

Nice To Haves

  • HR experience within an EPC organization, electrical power services provider, electrical contractor, utility/T&D, renewable energy, industrial construction, field services, or related infrastructure environment, with particular preference for electrical power infrastructure experience.
  • Experience supporting multi-state, project-based, DOT-regulated, or other safety-sensitive workforces.
  • Experience partnering with Safety and Operations leaders in field-based environments.
  • Professional HR certification such as PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with business and operational leaders on workforce priorities, organizational needs, and people decisions, providing practical HR guidance aligned with business objectives.
  • Provide HR support throughout the employee lifecycle, including performance management, talent and workforce planning, employee development, engagement and retention, organizational change, and offboarding.
  • Coach leaders on effective people management, including performance expectations, employee communication, conflict resolution, documentation, and corrective action.
  • Manage employee relations matters and workplace investigations from intake through resolution, evaluating facts and risk and recommending appropriate, well-documented actions.
  • Apply sound judgment to complex employee situations, balancing employee needs, consistent employment practices, compliance requirements, operational considerations, and company risk.
  • Partner with Safety, Operations, Legal, and other stakeholders on matters involving safety-sensitive work, DOT requirements, workplace incidents, substance testing, and other situations where employment, regulatory, and operational considerations intersect.
  • Identify workforce and employee relations trends and recommend proactive improvements to HR practices, manager effectiveness, and employee retention and engagement.
  • Maintain awareness of applicable employment requirements and support consistent HR policies and practices across the organization.
  • Serve as an experienced resource and informal mentor to developing HR team members.
  • Perform other job-related duties as requested by management.
