As we continue to grow, we are seeking an experienced Director of Human Resources to lead our HR function and serve as a strategic partner to ownership and operational leadership across our multi-state retail organization. Position Summary The Senior Human Resources Business Partner is responsible for leading aspects of Human Resources, including employee relations, talent acquisition, compliance, performance management, and HR operations. This role partners closely with company leadership to develop practical people strategies that support business objectives while ensuring a positive employee experience. This position requires a hands-on HR leader who enjoys balancing strategic initiatives with day-to-day execution in a fast-paced retail environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field preferred.
  • 7+ years of progressive Human Resources experience.
  • Multi-state HR experience required.
  • Experience supporting multi-location retail organizations strongly preferred.
  • Strong employee relations and workplace investigation experience.
  • Full-cycle recruiting experience.
  • Thorough understanding of employment law and HR best practices.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion.

Nice To Haves

  • SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification.
  • Experience supporting a growing organization.
  • Experience with ADP Workforce Now or comparable HRIS.
  • Experience partnering with executive leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary HR resource for employees and field leadership.
  • Conduct workplace investigations and provide guidance on employee relations matters.
  • Coach managers through performance management, disciplinary actions, and terminations.
  • Ensure consistent interpretation and application of company policies.
  • Oversee and conduct full-cycle recruiting for corporate, retail, and professional positions.
  • Partner with operational leaders to identify hiring needs and workforce plans.
  • Manage the applicant tracking process and recruiting metrics.
  • Build proactive sourcing strategies to attract top talent.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws across multiple states.
  • Oversee onboarding and offboarding processes.
  • Partner with Payroll and Benefits to support employee programs.
  • Maintain HR policies, employee records, and personnel documentation.
  • Monitor and communicate changes in employment legislation and HR best practices.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to ownership and operational leadership.
  • Provide guidance on organizational structure, staffing, and workforce planning.
  • Support organizational changes, new store openings, and business growth initiatives.
  • Analyze HR trends and recommend process improvements.
