Senior Home Equity Servicing Specialist

About The Position

Nada is building the leading platform for the emerging home equity asset class. Our flagship product, the Home Equity Agreement (HEA), helps homeowners access the wealth they’ve built in their homes without taking on additional monthly debt obligations, providing greater flexibility and financial freedom. Unlike traditional providers that focus on a single transaction, Nada is built to support homeowners throughout their financial journey. Through our proprietary Home Equity OS and full-service, in-house mortgage, realty, and servicing platforms, we help customers navigate key milestones before, during, and after their HEA — from accessing equity today to refinancing, selling, and ultimately settling their investment. Backed by leading investors and institutional capital partners, Nada is helping define the future of home equity finance. This is the person who owns what happens when things go wrong. A home equity agreement has no monthly payment, so there is no delinquency in the ordinary sense. But the homeowner still has to keep the property insured, the taxes paid, the senior lien current, and the home maintained — and when any of those fail, Nada’s position is at risk. Senior lienholders foreclose. Homeowners file bankruptcy. Taxing authorities sell properties out from under junior positions. Today, nobody at Nada wakes up owning that. You will. You will own the default book end to end: monitoring the portfolio for distress signals, reaching homeowners before a problem becomes a loss, designing workouts that work for both sides, coordinating with counsel through bankruptcy and foreclosure, and making the recovery calls — bid or release at the trustee’s sale, claim the surplus or waive it, approve the short sale or hold. As the senior specialist on a small team, you will also provide coverage across core servicing and help set the standard the function is built to. You will work directly with outside counsel, our subservicer, our title partners, and the capital partners who own these assets. This is a build role. The playbooks you will follow are the ones you write.

Requirements

  • 4+ years in mortgage, consumer lending, or shared-equity servicing, with meaningful time in default, collections, loss mitigation, or foreclosure.
  • Direct experience managing foreclosure and bankruptcy files alongside outside counsel.
  • Working knowledge of FDCPA and applicable state default and foreclosure requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability to design a process from scratch and document it well enough that someone else can run it.
  • Comfort with lien position, title, and recorded instruments — able to read a title report and know what it means for the investment.
  • Strong written communication. Much of this job is explaining a difficult situation clearly to a homeowner, a lawyer, or an investor.
  • Comfort working in spreadsheets — lookups, filtering, and reconciling data between two sources that disagree.
  • Based in the Dallas–Fort Worth area and able to work from the Dallas office.

Nice To Haves

  • Home equity investment, shared equity, second-lien or HELOC portfolio experience.
  • Investor or capital-partner reporting exposure.
  • Foreclosure-sale bidding, surplus fund recovery, or REO disposition experience.
  • Familiarity with property monitoring or lien-alert platforms.
  • Bankruptcy docket management, including PACER.
  • Experience in an early-stage or high-growth company.

Responsibilities

  • Own the default detection routine end to end — the lien-alert feed, subservicer reporting, credit signals, and county records — and drive time-to-detection to within two business days of the source data becoming available.
  • Maintain the default tracker as the single source of truth: every open event carrying a current action plan, an assigned owner, a next-action date, and current valuation and lien-position data.
  • Monitor the Events of Default under the Covenant Agreement and escalate breaches with a recommended remedy, not just a flag.
  • Lead outbound contact with homeowners in distress — with persistence, judgment, and genuine care for people having a hard year.
  • Design and execute workout and settlement strategies: reinstatement, forbearance, short sale, negotiated payoff, deed in lieu. Model the outcomes and recommend the one that is right.
  • Partner with Originations on retention and re-homeshare opportunities where a new agreement is the better answer for both sides.
  • Manage bankruptcy files with counsel: proofs of claim, notices of appearance, plan objections, stay relief, and the calendar that keeps none of it from being missed.
  • Run foreclosure files: track sale dates and postponements, confirm lien position against the county record before every sale, and make a documented bid-versus-release recommendation with the equity analysis behind it.
  • Pursue surplus funds, REO disposition, and title and escrow claims wherever a recovery exists.
  • Report default performance, delinquency, and loss-mitigation outcomes to leadership, investors, and capital partners — and investigate variances rather than passing them along.
  • Build the default playbook: decision trees, call scripts, escalation paths, and controls that make the work repeatable and defensible to an examiner.
  • Cross-train on core servicing — boarding, custody, taxes, insurance, settlements — to provide coverage across the function and support the Director in his absence.
  • Mentor the Home Equity Servicing Specialist on the team and set the quality bar for the function’s written work.

  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance
