Requirements

  • BS-Clinical Laboratory Science, Biology, Biochemistry or related field with 8+ years of histology experience in a hospital or CRO laboratory.
  • MS in similar fields will also be considered.
  • HT, HTL, ASCP certification or eligible for certification required.
  • Attention to detail and excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in data analysis software (such as GraphPad Prism, ImageJ).
  • Excellent communication skills – verbal and written.
  • Works well both as a team and as an individual.
  • Demonstration of excellent team player skills, very strong attention to detail, very strong problem-solving skills, a high level of learning agility, and the ability to work across functions.

Responsibilities

  • Operating and maintaining histology laboratory equipment, including advanced automated tissue processing and staining platforms.
  • Performing core histology techniques for FFPE tissues, including fixation, processing, embedding, sectioning, and quality control.
  • Executing single‑plex and multiplex immunohistochemistry (IHC) and immunofluorescence (IF) staining methodologies.
  • Conducting microscopic evaluation of FFPE tissues using brightfield and multiplex immunofluorescence imaging.
  • Providing subject‑matter expertise on the practical application of IHC and histological techniques in support of oncology research programs.
  • Partnering with the Histology team to ensure laboratory instrumentation is properly maintained, calibrated, and compliant with operational standards.
  • Serving as a histology and IHC expert on project teams, ensuring appropriate methodologies, priorities, and timelines are established and maintained.
