Senior Histology Technician – Surgical Pathology
About The Position
Play an essential role in the quality and safety of patient care, performing a wide range of procedures that assist our providers with the diagnosis, treatment and management of patients and their health needs. This role provides daily direction to laboratory staff regarding laboratory policies and procedures and serves as the dedicated resource for procedures, equipment, and education. The Senior Histology Technician is a comprehensive provider of laboratory testing, expert medical interpretation of specimens, and innovation in laboratory technology. This role also involves developing and maintaining teaching/training materials and coordinating workflow throughout the laboratory to ensure quality results are reported in a clinically useful timeframe.
Requirements
- Associate's Degree in laboratory science or medical laboratory technology OR Education and training equivalent to an associate degree to include: Education: 60 semester hours including either 24 semester hours of medical laboratory technology courses or 24 semester hours of science courses
- 2 years histology or relevant laboratory experience
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor's Degree in medical technology, clinical laboratory science, or chemical, physical, or biological science
- 3 years histology or relevant laboratory experience
- Histotechnician / Histotechnologist (American Society for Clinical Pathology) or equivalent
Responsibilities
