What your role at EXP looks like EXP is seeking an experienced Senior Highway Project Manager for our Tampa, FL office. This leadership role is ideal for a seasoned professional with a strong background in delivering complex highway and transportation projects. You will oversee multidisciplinary teams, manage client relationships, and ensure successful delivery of major infrastructure projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science or higher in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
  • 15+ years of progressive experience in highway and transportation project delivery.
  • Minimum 5 years of post‑registration experience as a licensed Professional Engineer.
  • Licensed PE in the State of Florida.
  • Demonstrated success managing highway projects, including oversight of multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong technical background in highway design, transportation engineering, and FDOT agency standards.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the full lifecycle of highway and multi‑modal transportation projects, from concept development through final design and construction.
  • Oversee project scope, schedule, budget, risk management, and quality assurance for multiple concurrent projects.
  • Provide senior‑level technical guidance on highway design, civil engineering, and transportation engineering.
  • Direct and review the preparation of plans, specifications, cost estimates, bid packages, design‑build packages, and bridging documents.
  • Serve as the primary client liaison, ensuring strong communication, responsiveness, and long‑term relationship development.
  • Coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders, including FDOT, municipalities, contractors, and partnering consultants.
  • Ensure compliance with AASHTO, MUTCD, FDOT standards, and other applicable design and regulatory requirements.
