About The Position

EXP is seeking a talented Senior Highway Design Engineer for its Coral Gables and Fort Lauderdale offices. The role offers opportunities to work on a wide range of projects involving multimodal roadway planning, highway design, civil design, design review, and construction oversight. The engineer will perform and lead highway engineering design reviews and develop civil designs for multimodal transportation projects in accordance with applicable AASHTO, MUTCD, and FDOT standards. The position also involves preparing plans, specifications, quantities, cost estimates, final bid packages, design-build packages, and bridging documents. The role requires proficiency with applicable FDOT-supported design software.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree or higher in Engineering, preferably in a civil or transportation curriculum.
• 12 or more years of related experience.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license in the State of Florida.
• In-depth knowledge of MicroStation and OpenRoads software.
• Strong technical design background in highway design and transportation engineering.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a team.
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Basic knowledge of MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.

Nice To Haves

• Professional Engineer license in other Southeastern states.
• FDOT experience.
• Project management experience.
• Active participation in professional societies at the local and state levels.

Responsibilities
