About The Position

EXP is seeking a Senior Highway Design Engineer for its Coral Gables and Fort Lauderdale offices. The role offers opportunities across multi-modal roadway planning, highway and civil design, design review, and construction oversight. The engineer will lead highway design review tasks and develop civil designs for multi-modal transportation projects in accordance with applicable AASHTO, MUTCD, and FDOT standards. The role also includes preparing plans, specifications, quantities, cost estimates, final bid packages, design-build packages, and bridging documents. The position requires proficiency with FDOT-supported design software and strong technical highway design and transportation engineering experience.

Requirements

Bachelor of Science or higher in Engineering, preferably in a civil or transportation curriculum.
12+ years of related experience.
Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in the State of Florida.
In-depth knowledge of MicroStation and OpenRoads software.
Strong technical design background in highway design and transportation engineering.
Demonstrated ability to work in a team.
Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
Basic knowledge of MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
Familiarity and proficiency with FDOT Current Supported Software Versions, including OpenRoads Designer (ORD), Bentley ProjectWise CONNECT, MicroStation, Civil 3D, Auto Turn, and Guide Sign.

Nice To Haves

Licensed PE in other Southeastern states.
FDOT experience.
Project management experience.
Active participation in professional societies at the local and state levels.

Responsibilities

Perform and lead engineering design review tasks for highway projects.
