Requirements

Master’s Degree in Architecture
Architectural licensure
Ideal candidate has at least 12 years of experience working in an architecture firm or in healthcare architecture
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and Bluebeam
Medical space planning, architectural design and construction documents acumen
Working understanding of design constructability as well as a solid understanding of healthcare architecture
Advanced understanding of the Federal Guidelines Institute (FGI) for healthcare architecture and all applicable healthcare building codes
Strong leadership and organizational skills, including the ability to effectively manage multiple simultaneous projects
Understands the fundamental relationships and contractual obligations between the Architect, Consultants, Owner and Contractor
Ability to prepare and deliver presentation materials
Ability to communicate within a creative team environment
Complex problem-solving and critical thinking abilities are essential

Nice To Haves

Past experience working in a healthcare organization is a plus
A focus or specialty in healthcare design, with preference to candidates with a healthcare-specific college degree

Responsibilities

Medical space planning, including research on best practices and future practices of healthcare services
Provide overall project design and development process to ensure that construction documents conform with A&E + SMA Design's agreement with the client
Provide technical expertise to generate documents for healthcare and/or life science projects ranging in size and scope
Work with partners and project managers on all project efforts, both administrative and technical, to ensure the most efficient and cost-effective execution of assigned projects
Provide clear team leadership and mentorship. Oversee and provide regular, timely direction to project team members, with additional attention given to those with the least experience and/or expertise
Ensure quality control on all deliverables
May estimate fees, determine scope of work, and prepares proposals and contracts for partner or associate partner review
Serve as the primary consultant liaison and a secondary client liaison to complete projects on schedule, within budget, and with maximum client satisfaction
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary design team to understand needs of A&E +SMA Design’s diverse client base and determine innovative, successful environmental graphic solutions
Support the design director and collaborate with a team of designers, architects and fabricators
