About The Position

The Division of Public and Behavioral Health: Public Health Preparedness has an opening for a full time Senior Health Resource Analyst in Carson City, NV. This position will be focused on conducting preparedness activities in Rural Nevada to include data collection and risk/gap assessment, updating plans, participating in exercises, and coordinating with rural county response partners. Health Resource Analysts assist in the development, maintenance, implementation, and revision of State health care policies and programs.

Requirements

  • Two or more years of applicable experience as described in the job duties
  • Graduation from high school or equivalent education

Responsibilities

  • Compile health statistics and health care resource information to determine areas of unmet health needs.
  • Prepare reports on specific health care problems, needs, projects, or programs.
  • Conduct reviews and analyses of proposed projects and/or information to determine compliance.
  • Analyze geographic, demographic, socioeconomic, survey, health care utilization, health status indicators, community health profiles, and health resources data.
  • Conduct research, develop and maintain a variety of databases, and identify and develop data sources.
  • Provide technical assistance to health care providers and public and private sector organizations.
  • Create and submit analytical, narrative, and statistical reports.
  • Conduct community health surveys and needs assessments.
  • Evaluate applicable health care laws and assist in the development of regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Represent the agency at various meetings and conduct and participate in public hearings.
  • Prepare and present recommendations, take action to resolve non-compliance, and monitor the development of health care resources.
  • Develop an inventory of health care providers, health maintenance organization profiles, and enrollment data.
  • Provide information on regulations, federal grants and programs, and other health care system information.
  • Participate and provide support to various committees and advisory boards.
  • Develop regulations, finalize comments and revisions, submit for approval, and implement regulations.
  • Conduct periodic reviews and investigations of health care programs, facilities, and providers for compliance.
  • Develop, prepare, monitor, and oversee the grants management process and prepare grant reports.
  • Prepare and monitor State contracts to ensure performance.
  • Act as a team leader by assigning and reviewing work, training, and providing input to performance evaluations and discipline.
  • Perform related duties as assigned.
