1X is building humanoid robots designed to perform household chores and tasks, aiming to give people back their time. This endeavor requires solving complex challenges in robotics, AI, and manufacturing simultaneously, at scale, and in a safe form factor for home environments. The company has been developing these robots since 2014 and is now transitioning from solving fundamental problems to the intensive work of production and scaling. Their flagship product, NEO, is a home robot designed for real-world operation alongside people, and the company is focused on shipping it. They are seeking individuals inspired by the prospect of working on meaningful problems that have a tangible impact on the world. The Manufacturing Engineering team is tasked with transforming advanced robotic designs into scalable and repeatable production systems. This involves working at the intersection of engineering, operations, and supply chain to develop the necessary processes, standards, and manufacturing infrastructure for producing thousands of reliable humanoid robots. The Senior Harness Manufacturing Engineer will own the entire lifecycle of robot wiring systems, from prototype to high-volume production, developing and scaling manufacturing processes to ensure consistent assembly, routing, testing, and integration of harnesses for reliable robot performance and rapid production growth.
