Requirements
- BS in Electrical Engineering or related field
- 5+ years of harness design experience
- Connector and component selection experience
- Wire sizing, shielding, grounding, and power distribution fundamentals
- Harness test and validation experience
- Familiarity with the aerospace regulatory environment (FAA airworthiness requirements) and aerospace wiring standards (e.g., SAE AS50881)
Nice To Haves
- UAV or aerospace harness experience
- Harness design tools (e.g., Capital, E3, SolidWorks Electrical)
- Experience supporting production build and inspection
Responsibilities
- Own electrical harness design for the drone airframe, docks, and test platforms. The role is approximately 90% electrical and 10% mechanical (clips, routing, retention).
- Design wire harnesses for the airframe, dock systems, and test benches
- Select connectors, wire, and harness components
- Create harness drawings, schematics, wire lists, and BOMs
- Define routing, clipping, and retention with the mechanical team
- Plan and support harness testing (continuity, hipot) and resolve issues
- Support transition of harness designs to production
