About The Position

AssemblyAI is seeking its first Senior GTM Engineer to develop the systems that drive customer acquisition, success, and growth. This role is an engineering position within the revenue organization, responsible for the end-to-end GTM stack, including CRM, data enrichment, outbound automation, lead routing, scoring, and AI agents that automate tasks traditionally handled by sales operations. The position sits at the intersection of Sales, Marketing, and Data, with responsibilities ranging from identifying high-growth companies using AI pipelines to rebuilding lead routing in Salesforce, integrating product usage signals into seller workflows, and automating outbound processes from account selection to initial contact. The primary goal is to empower a small team to achieve the productivity of a much larger one.

Requirements

  • 4+ years in GTM/sales engineering, growth engineering, RevOps with significant build responsibility, or software engineering with GTM exposure.
  • Strong proficiency in SQL and Python, with experience managing production automations (APIs, webhooks, scheduled jobs, error handling).
  • Solid software engineering fundamentals, including writing clean, maintainable code, systems thinking, and proficiency with version control, code review, and debugging.
  • Fluency in using AI-assisted development tools like Claude Code as a primary work method for rapid automation of messaging, integrations, and tool development, coupled with engineering judgment for review and testing.
  • Hands-on experience with Salesforce, including objects, flows, routing, and API-level integration.
  • Practical experience implementing LLMs into workflows, including prompt design, evaluation, and understanding when AI is the appropriate solution.
  • Familiarity with the modern GTM stack, including enrichment platforms (e.g., Clay), sequencers, and warehouse-native tooling.
  • A builder's mindset with operator's judgment, focusing on business impact, iterative shipping, and measuring results in pipeline and revenue.
  • Low ego, high ownership, and comfort being the sole owner of an entire domain.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience at a developer-facing or API-first company, or experience selling to technical buyers.
  • Familiarity with dbt, BigQuery/Looker, or a similar warehouse and BI stack.
  • Experience building agentic workflows (multi-step AI systems beyond single prompts).
  • Previous experience as the first GTM/growth engineer hire at a company and building the function from the ground up.

Responsibilities

  • Own the GTM systems stack: Salesforce, outbound and sequencing tools, enrichment providers, and the integrations between them
  • Write code daily for scripts, internal tools, and small services, utilizing tools like Claude Code for rapid development of outreach messages, integrations, or internal sales apps.
  • Build and deploy AI workflows for prospecting, account research, lead scoring, and personalization into production.
  • Translate product usage data (from BigQuery, Looker) into actionable signals for sellers, such as usage alerts, expansion triggers, and account health scores.
  • Automate territory building and account targeting, including sourcing, enrichment, deduplication, and Ideal Customer Profile (ICP) scoring.
  • Maintain funnel data integrity through routing rules, field governance, and attribution management.
  • Prototype solutions quickly, measure their effectiveness, and iterate or discontinue based on results, collaborating with Sales and Marketing leadership on future development.
  • Document built systems to ensure they can operate independently without constant supervision.
