About The Position
We are looking for an experienced Graphics Developer to join the Web Graphics team here at Unity. We enable beautiful realtime 3D graphics in web browsers via WebGL and WebGPU. You will work alongside other Graphics Developers to enhance and maintain the technology to render Unity on the web platform, with a focus on exploring the frontiers of WebGPU! This role allows you to have a direct impact on one of the biggest markets and platforms, the web, and includes collaboration with major platform and GPU partners. Our ideal candidate will have a deep knowledge of graphics and a passion for developing features that will be used by a broad range of users.
Requirements
- Solid understanding of real-time 3D graphics programming with a good knowledge of modern GPU architecture.
- Strong multi-threaded C++, C#, and Javascript programming skills.
- Proficiency with a graphics API such as WebGL, WebGPU, Direct3D, or Vulkan.
- Proactive, solution-oriented mindset with a keen interest in rendering on the web.
- Ability to break down complex technical work into concrete, estimable deliverables, and clearly communicate technical concepts to non-engineering stakeholders.
Nice To Haves
- Experience of development for multiple platforms. Web, Mobile, Linux, XR and Console are especially of interest.
- Working knowledge of other platform APIs such as Web Assembly, Emscripten, Dawn/Tint/Wgpu/Naga (the native WebGPU libraries), SPIR-V, DXC.
- Hands-on experience working with Unity.
Responsibilities
- Develop new graphics features that leverage our partners' platforms.
- Help maintain existing graphics functionality and improve performance, testability and stability.
- Work with stakeholders to understand requirements, plan work, communicate progress and collaboratively solve problems that arise.
- Participate in technical discussions with our platform and GPU partners.
- Engage in technical design reviews, code reviews and build automated tests for new features.
