About The Position

The Senior Graphic Designer will work with the Design Manager and Creative Content Manager to create and maintain both traditional and digital deliverables. This position reports to the Graphic Design Supervisor. The role involves providing concept and design for marketing collateral and interpretive signage, making design changes, corrections, and additions. The designer will collaborate closely with the communications team to create engaging layouts and work with internal and external departments. A key responsibility includes maintaining multiple layouts for the SDZWA JOURNAL magazine in both printed and digital forms, understanding the publication workflow from design to prepress. The role also involves directing photo and video shoots and working closely with the creative content team.

Requirements

  • Four or more years of brand, print, and interactive redesigns.
  • Design experience for a major publication.
  • Proficient in Adobe CS programs, preferably InDesign.
  • Use Adobe Digital Publication Suite (Adobe DPS).
  • Communicate effectively (verbal and written).
  • Work effectively in a diverse team environment.

  • Sophisticated visual point of view to editorial storytelling.
  • Strong command of editorial typography, grid systems, hierarchy, and pacing.
  • Ability to balance creative ambition with an established publication system, brand, audience, and production schedule.
  • Skilled at translating complex stories, scientific information, and subject-matter expertise into clear, compelling visual narratives.
  • Confidently managing publication workflows from concept through completion.
