About The Position

The purpose of this position is to provide advanced post-award grants management support to Tandon departments that are in need of guidance pertaining to post-award grants management to ensure proper compliance and fiscal oversight of their sponsored research projects. The position is also aimed to reduce faculty of administrative burdens that affect their research productivity and other academic obligations. The Senior Grants Manager will be based in the Tandon Office of Sponsored Programs and will report to the Assistant Dean for Research. The Incumbent will manage a complex sponsored research portfolio and be responsible for all aspects of post-award grants management for various departments at the NYU Tandon School of Engineering - but will be primarily responsible for the department of Electrical and Computer Engineering. Work closely and frequently with the PI to develop the financial framework and workflows to support fiscally responsible management of each activity.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting/Finance
  • 5+ years experience working in an academic department, supervision, managing budgets or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Excellent organization and communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Proficiency with the use of computers, experience in excel, electronic mail, and internet systems.
  • Should be well organized and self-motivated with good people skills.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours.

Nice To Haves

  • 5+ years familiar with research, technical and/or grant funded environment
  • Proficiency with use of computers, experiences in excel, electronic mail, and internet systems.
  • Familiarity with university policies and procedures, particularly grants and contracts.
