About The Position

This role is for a Senior Governance & Control Analyst located in Markham, Ontario, Canada, working 37.5 hours per week. The position is within the Governance & Control Line of Business and offers a salary range of $81,600 - $115,200 CAD. The role is eligible for discretionary variable compensation based on business and individual performance. Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree preferred.
  • Broad and deep knowledge of business and risk and control environment.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

  • Provide specialized business governance and control related advice and support to management, leadership, and respective teams for areas of specialization.
  • Lead the implementation of governance and control initiatives to support the overall business/function strategy.
  • Manage a set of business governance and control work activities requiring coordination across multiple areas.
  • Review processes and controls, connecting the dots across issues and control deficiencies to increase standardization of solutions, processes, and controls.
  • Support and manage the integrated implementation of policies, processes, procedures, and changes across multiple functional areas.
  • Provide subject matter expertise to projects and initiatives, participating in identifying, designing, testing solutions, and supporting implementation activities.
  • Ensure programs, policies, and practices are well-managed, meet business needs and priorities, and comply with internal and external requirements.
  • Exercise discretion in managing communication, correspondence, information, and all matters of confidentiality.
  • Conduct research projects and support the development and delivery of materials and presentations to management or a broader audience.
  • Adhere to enterprise frameworks or methodologies related to activities for the business area.
  • May lead work streams by acting as a project lead or SME for medium-scale projects and initiatives in accordance with project management methodologies.
  • Protect the interests of the organization by identifying and managing risks, and escalating non-standard, high-risk transactions or activities as necessary.
  • Maintain a culture of risk management and control, supported by effective processes aligned with risk appetite.
  • Be knowledgeable of and comply with the Bank Code of Conduct.
  • Participate as a member of the team, support a positive work environment, and ensure timely communication.
  • Support the team by regularly enhancing knowledge and expertise in their own area and participating in knowledge transfer.
  • Stay current on emerging trends and developments, and grow knowledge of the business, related tools, and techniques.
