About The Position

The primary accountability of the role is to support TDS' compliance with jurisdictional Privacy laws and regulations. The TDS Privacy team will act as the first line of defence against Privacy risk in TDS by managing and identifying Privacy risk in day-to-day activities. The role will support TDS management globally who, as Privacy risk owners must establish, implement and maintain procedures and controls, as appropriate and in line with TD's risk appetite, to mitigate and manage Privacy risks applicable to their business, leveraging where possible existing governance, processes and controls. The role interacts with our global business, partners and second lines of defense in all TDS jurisdictions.

Requirements

  • Strong risk management and/ or compliance background.
  • Solid problem solving and decision-making ability.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively interact at all levels coupled with a passion to build strong working relationships.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast paced, dynamic, detail oriented, sometimes ambiguous environment.
  • An ability to grasp and translate technical concepts, think independently and a high degree of initiative required to present options in resolving issues.
  • Strong background and knowledge of capital markets, their functions and processes.
  • Experience in data analytics and developing business intelligence dashboards for risk-based decision making.

  • Good organizational/time management skills.
  • The ability to work within a team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Support the TDS Privacy Program through implementation, maintenance and compliance with Privacy-related policies, standards, procedures and guidelines, providing Privacy-related advice to TDS' products, services and initiatives.
  • Extensive interaction with various global businesses and teams to understand their roles and processes in order to provide strategic advice.
  • Participate and challenge the business on initiatives, including providing data governance oversight for projects related to changes in technology systems and platforms.
  • Support the review of Privacy Impact Assessment and co-ordinate required approvals/updates to relevant partners.
  • Identify Privacy-related issues and breaches and when necessary, escalate issues to management while ensuring prompt resolution.
  • Build positive working relationships by effectively communicating and regularly sharing information.
  • Demonstrate awareness of project dependencies and risks, ensuring that they are effectively managed.
  • Identify potential opportunities for automation and process improvements within business operations.
  • Act as liaison between business and partners from the first, second and third lines of defense.
  • Participate fully as a member of the team, promote team effectiveness and contribute to a positive work environment.
