Design, develop, and maintain software and systems for the collection, processing, and analysis of satellite navigation signals in the Space and Geophysics Laboratory (SGL). This role involves independently developing new data processing and analysis software using Python, C/C++, or scripting to meet project objectives. The position also requires performing analysis of observation and navigation data using established software tools, repositories, and libraries, contributing to the characterization of GPS/GNSS, and identifying improvements and new methods for data collection and analysis. The Senior GNSS Data Scientist will evaluate and develop new metrics, algorithms, and processing techniques for modernized GPS and GNSS signals, and contribute to testing and routine assessments of GPS and GNSS receiver performance. Additionally, this role includes guiding project reviews and technical interface meetings, identifying future analytical software and hardware resource requirements, assisting with data archive organization and maintenance, and further developing knowledge of GNSS and related domains. Mentoring fellow staff and becoming a subject matter expert are also key aspects of this position, along with documenting progress and completion of work, and performing other related functions as assigned.
