Western Digital is seeking a Senior Global Trade Controls Lead to manage and execute operational tasks and problem-solving related to international trade and transportation. This role involves developing strategies for compliant and efficient product movement, providing consultation on compliance obligations, and interfacing with various stakeholders including freight forwarders, customs brokers, and government officials. The position requires designing a global customs brokerage, forwarder, and logistic partner program, managing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for process improvement, and evaluating new government and trade compliance requirements. The lead will also partner with the legal team on regulatory changes, serve as a functional expert in Global Trade matters, and drive improvements in cost, lead time, and process efficiency through data analytics and automation. Additionally, the role involves building communication and training plans, creating and enforcing regional trade compliance, monitoring proposed changes in trade laws, managing daily governance tasks, and assisting with product classification (HTS, Schedule B, ECCN).
