Requirements

  • JD from a nationally-recognized law school
  • The ideal candidate would have at least 10 years of total experience with a practice focused on trade compliance in a large, international law firm, the US Government and/or with a large technology company.
  • Maturity, tact, pragmatic business judgment, and sound decision-making
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to collaborate and work effectively in a team-oriented environment
  • Expert-level understanding of Export Administration Regulations
  • Demonstrates broad and comprehensive understanding of different compliance concepts and controls and company systems such as SAP.
  • Understands different business functions and strategies and uses this knowledge as well as regulatory expertise to develop compliance solutions that advance business strategies.
  • Leads a significant team within Global Trade; develops and executes department or sub-functional strategy to achieve key business objectives
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams.
  • Evaluates key business challenges; directs the development of new or innovative solutions
  • Guided by company strategy and business objectives, impacts results of segment/function
  • Influences and negotiates at the top executive levels, with great latitude on outcomes; presents and defends complicated or delicate issues

Responsibilities

  • Provides leadership and direction through senior managers and is accountable for the performance and results of multiple compliance areas within Trade
  • Manages legal resources and significant compliance segments of global trade program and adjusts program to optimize compliance and business outcomes.
  • Utilizes expertise and experience to innovate, creating novel approaches to address trade compliance challenges
  • Closely aligns with executive leaders to align compliance program to business strategy and vice-versa
  • Other projects as assigned by Trade VP
