Auror•Denver, CO
•$155,000 - $180,000•Hybrid

About The Position

Auror is hiring a Senior Global Recognition Technology Manager to lead the team responsible for delivering its Vehicle Recognition and Subject Recognition technology to customers. The role will help scale recognition technology globally, supporting pilots and deployments that combine physical hardware, networking, and software, with privacy at the forefront. Subject Recognition is in its early stages, offering an opportunity to shape its path from pilots to sustainable deployment across markets. Based in Denver, Colorado, this is a hybrid, flexible-working role focused on the US. The products are used by customers in New Zealand, Australia, the US, and the UK, so the role requires flexibility to support global customers and colleagues across time zones. Customer-site travel averages 2–5 days per month. The manager will lead a distributed team based in New Zealand, the UK, and the US; establish scalable delivery practices; oversee pilots and rollouts across markets; and manage relationships with hardware suppliers, software partners, system integrators, and installation providers. The role also requires practical technical judgment, stakeholder alignment, evidence-based delivery improvement, and responsible use of AI-assisted work practices.

Requirements

  • Practical experience deploying solutions that combine physical hardware, networking, and software.
  • Strong people management experience, including setting expectations, coaching, developing capability, and managing performance concerns.
  • Experience leading a distributed team and coordinating delivery across regions and time zones.
  • Evidence of building project management practices that increased delivery capacity while maintaining quality and team sustainability.
  • Confidence leading a team managing multiple customer implementations while balancing commercial priorities, technical dependencies, and available capacity.
  • Ability to build trust with technical and non-technical stakeholders, communicate clearly, and navigate competing expectations.
  • Sound judgment about when to empower others, step in, or escalate.
  • Understanding of privacy and responsible technology deployment, and curiosity to deepen expertise in LPR and facial recognition.
  • Strong alignment with Auror’s Guiding Principles.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in recognition technology, video surveillance, physical security, or a related field.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, develop, and support a distributed team across New Zealand, the UK, and the US, including setting expectations and goals, coaching, providing feedback, developing capability, recognising strong performance, and addressing performance concerns.
  • Establish repeatable approaches for scoping, planning, deployment, and handover, and create an operating cadence for reviewing priorities, capacity, progress, and risks.
  • Oversee Vehicle Recognition and Subject Recognition pilots and rollouts from technical discovery through implementation and transition to ongoing support.
  • Ensure projects have clear ownership, agreed success measures, realistic milestones, and timely escalation of risks.
  • Help assess site readiness, deployment models, hardware, camera systems, networking, and software integrations; support troubleshooting and complex deployments when needed.
  • Coordinate customers, Commercial, Customer Success, Product, Engineering, and external partners around clear plans and decisions; explain technical requirements and trade-offs and manage expectations.
  • Own relationships with hardware suppliers, software partners, system integrators, and installation providers; set and manage partner responsibilities, quality standards, and escalation paths.
  • Use delivery measures such as deployment lead times, milestone reliability, rework, and customer readiness to identify improvements.
  • Turn lessons from pilots and rollouts into shared playbooks and provide actionable feedback to Product and Engineering.
  • Model practical AI use in planning, reporting, and documentation, and help the team maintain shared context, protect sensitive information, and review output quality.
