About The Position

We are seeking a senior, hands-on GitHub / Modern Development Consultant to support enterprise customer engagements centered on the operation, modernization, and evolution of a GitHub platform environment. The role is aligned to work that includes GitHub Enterprise Cloud / EMU, GitHub Actions, Copilot, platform security, governance, hardening, and supporting integrations. The engagement model assumes a single dedicated engineering resource supported by project management, working in a backlog-driven delivery model with ongoing prioritization and customer coordination. This is a customer-facing consulting role for someone who can step into a complex enterprise environment and provide immediate value through technical assessment, configuration review, recommendations, hands-on execution, and modernization support.

Requirements

  • Senior-level, hands-on experience with GitHub Enterprise, especially GHEC and/or GHEC EMU in enterprise environments. GitHub Server is a plus.
  • Must have own company and EIN number. This is a corp to corp role.
  • Proven experience supporting GitHub migrations, including assessment, dry runs, migration planning, and execution support.
  • Strong experience with GitHub Actions, CI/CD workflow work, and/or pipeline modernization or reintegration.
  • Experience with GitHub Advanced Security (GHAS) and secure SDLC-related practices.
  • Ability to work directly with enterprise customers in a consulting capacity, including discovery, recommendations, prioritization, and hands-on delivery.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Copilot enablement / enterprise advisory.
  • Experience with supporting integrations across the development toolchain. The HPE materials explicitly mention supporting integrations and toolchain integration as part of the services model.

Responsibilities

  • Provide hands-on support for GitHub platform operations, including administration support, governance review, platform hardening, performance optimization, cost guidance, and new feature rollout advisory.
  • Conduct discovery and technical review of enterprise GitHub environments, including current configuration, operational processes, usage patterns, and opportunities for prioritized recommendations.
  • Support SCM and migration efforts, including assessment of source and target environments, repository analysis, dry-run migrations, migration planning, and coordinated execution with customer teams.
  • Support pipeline and workflow modernization, including GitHub Actions work, CI/CD reintegration planning, workflow automation, and branch/repository strategy modernization.
  • Support GitHub Advanced Security (GHAS) and secure SDLC-related work, including security posture improvement and policy-oriented modernization.
  • Support Copilot enablement / AI SDLC-related advisory, including use-case discovery, governance/guardrails, and targeted enablement where appropriate.
  • Work in a backlog-driven delivery model, collaborating with the customer on monthly / rolling prioritization and weekly status / coordination cadences.
  • Coordinate closely with customer engineering teams to minimize disruption during migrations and operational changes.
