Senior Geotechnical Field Technician
About The Position
Geo-Technology Associates, Inc. (GTA) is seeking an experienced Senior Geotechnical Field Technician for their Alliance, OH office. This full-time role requires prior construction inspection experience and relevant industry certifications. Relocation assistance is not available. The pay rate is $20-26/hr based on experience. The workday begins at 7 am with likely overtime, paid at 1.5 times the hourly rate for hours exceeding 40 per week. Mileage reimbursement is provided. A reliable vehicle capable of transporting testing equipment is necessary, along with a good driving record. The role involves working with people and enjoying outdoor work.
Requirements
- Prior construction inspection experience
- Relevant industry certifications
- Reliable vehicle, good driving record and valid driver's license
- Physical capability to carry equipment/samples >50 lbs on uneven ground
- High school diploma/GED with good writing and math skills
- Possess one or more of the following current certifications: NICET, ACI, APNGA, NETTCP, ICC, FPO

- Roadway construction experience
Responsibilities
- Observe and document construction activities to assure compliance with technical specifications
- Monitor and test the moisture and density of soils using a nuclear density testing gauge
- Testing of concrete for slump, air content and unit weight
- Testing of asphalt for temperature and compaction
- Assist laboratory and drilling personnel as requested
- Use civil drawings, project specifications and geotechnical reports effectively
- Complete daily reports, testing documents, timesheets and expense reports completely and in a timely manner
- Handle and maintain company assigned equipment
