Senior Gas FIMP Asset Specialist
About The Position
The Gas Transmission & Distribution department oversees the natural gas transmission and distribution infrastructure, managing extensive networks of pipelines, services, storage facilities, and compressor stations. The LNG/CNG Engineering and Operations department within this division is specifically responsible for portable natural gas assets, including natural gas vehicle fueling stations, and various sized liquified natural gas (LNG) and compressed natural gas (CNG) portable assets. These assets support planned and unplanned gas outages and are crucial for projects in Gas Operations. This role provides technical support for the operations, construction, and maintenance of these LNG and CNG assets, acting as a subject matter expert for special programs and projects. The position emphasizes collaboration to ensure the safety, integrity, and reliability of assigned assets, supporting all project phases from planning and analysis to design, build, testing, and deployment. It may also involve testing new equipment and assisting with training.
Requirements
- High School or GED-General Educational Development-GED Diploma
- Job-related experience, 5 years
- Ability to travel up to 60 percent of working time

Responsibilities
- May provide DOT-Operations/Maintenance AND Emergency support
- Work interdepartmentally with Asset Family Owners (AFO) to develop business requirements for an asset health and criticality scoring system in SAP and PLM for large and/or complex programs and projects.
- Provide advanced support to Gas Engineers and other specialists and projects teams as the subject matter expert related to the assigned asset
- Support and lead the creation or modification of technical work procedures related to maintenance practice changes for large and/or complex programs and projects
- Contribute toward Gas Safety Excellence goals by improving safety, integrity and reliability of the assigned assets and affordability for one or more asset families and one or more life cycles.
- Troubleshoots technical issues and problems and recommend solutions to resolve the issues.
- Presents findings and makes recommendations to AFO management
- Completes complex assignments where there are few precedents or standards, and assignments that require integration of information from a variety of sources.
- Participates in product evaluations
- Has knowledge of applicable principles, codes, regulations, polices, and procedures.
- Provides expertise on material failures including condition evaluation, damage assessments, and troubleshooting
- Provide Engineering with sound technical reviews and recommendations that support APO directives
- Provide advanced technical, and commissioning support for field and engineering activities of new and upgraded stations
- Recommends and/or coordinates testing of materials, tools and equipment
- Anticipates futures consequences and trends in asset performance and health.
