About The Position

Assist TGA Shift Manager with oversight of Tribal Gaming Agents on shift. Provides monitoring of surveillance system and tribal gaming agents and all Kalispel Tribal Properties with a primary mission to protect the assets as well as the reputation of the Kalispel Tribe of Indians. Ensure the safety of the employees and visitors within the gaming facility through reporting of safety concerns, illegal activity, and procedural violation. Ensures the gaming operation is in compliance with Commission Regulations, Tribal-State Compact, the Kalispel Gaming Ordinance, National Indian Gaming Commission Minimum Internal Control Standards and any other applicable regulations or laws. Due to the dynamic nature of the gaming industry, the particular aspects of this position can change with little or no notice.

Requirements

  • Two years experience in security, loss prevention, gaming and/or law enforcement investigations.
  • A minimum one year of experience as a Tribal Gaming Agent is required.
  • A minimum of one year experience with surveillance system is required.
  • Proficient in the use Microsoft programs and other computer software.
  • Must have ability to work independently and exercise discretionary judgment.
  • Must be able to define problems by collecting data, establishing facts, and drawing valid conclusions.
  • Must be able to interpret a variety of information furnished in written, oral diagram, or schedule form.
  • Must have ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, legal documents, intelligence information and governmental regulations.
  • Must have the ability to write reports and business correspondence, and give effective presentations and responses to questions from managers, patrons, employees, and the general public.
  • Must have moderate level math skills.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability, fractions, percentages and ratios to practical solutions.
  • Ability to handle high impact situations.
  • Ability to maintain effective working relationships with department heads and employees.
  • Skill in solving practical problems and dealing with situations where only limited standardization exists.

  • Must be able to type a minimum of 30 wpm.
  • Work nights, weekends and holidays as required.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Kalispel Tribe Work Permit Level 4.

Responsibilities

  • Monitors the following for compliance: Tribal/State Compact and National Indian Gaming Commission Minimum Internal Control Standards, Northern Quest Minimum Internal Control Standards and Policies and Procedures for all departments, Kalispel Tribal Ordinance, Kalispel Tribal Gaming Agency Regulations and reports all violations.
  • Accomplishes department objectives by supervising Tribal Gaming Agents and organizing and monitoring work process of Tribal Gaming Agents and completes any administrative duties assigned by TGA Agent Director or TGA Executive Director.
  • Assist TGA Shift Manager and TGA Agent Director with evaluating Tribal Gaming Agent performance, productivity, and workload against established Key Performance indicators (KPI), identifies performance trends and development opportunities, provides coaching and corrective guidance as needed, and conducts comprehensive semi-annual performance reviews to support operational excellence, accountability, and professional growth.
  • Resolve or communicate any conflicts and within the department internally or any external operational concerns with TGA Administration and Ops departments.
  • Fields attendance requests by reviewing schedule for availability of department staffing needs.
  • Communicates TGA Administration policy implementation and comprehension development for Agents.
  • Physically monitors gaming facilities to ensure the physical safety of the assets, patrons and employees of the gaming operations.
  • Work cooperatively with federal, state, local and other tribal Law Enforcement Agencies by gathering intelligence, for Law Enforcement Agencies with matters, including but not limited to, covert operations on Tribal property, detention and arrest of criminal suspects, production of information that leads to the arrest, prosecution and conviction of suspects, testifying in court and other duties which ultimately prevent illegal activity within the gaming operations and on other areas of Tribal land.
  • Prepares written reports regarding any deviations of regulations, internal controls, rules or procedures committed by the gaming operation.
  • Facilitates management of the gaming operation by immediately investigating incidents that occur in the gaming facility.
  • Provides objective review and act as a representative for requested dispute resolution.
  • Ensures immediate safety and protection of all tribal gaming operation employees, visitors, and patrons while on Tribal Gaming Operation property.
  • Works in cooperation with the other divisions of the Agency for criminal background investigations and investigations of any violations of federal, regulatory, or applicable laws.
  • Maintain and promote strict standards of confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Acts in accordance with KTGA Procedures and exhibits the guiding values of the Department and the Kalispel Tribe of Indians.
  • Train new hire Tribal Gaming Agents.
  • Observes, reports and records daily Casino activity in front and back of house, transport or transfer of assets and access to secure locations utilizing multiple documentation methods.
  • Reports malfunctions of camera equipment, recording pools, or surveillance network issues to Technicians.
  • Reviews and analyzes KTGA and Operations documentation for inconsistencies.
  • Completes functions/tasks assigned by the Licensing Agents and Internal Auditors as required.
  • Completes assigned portions of audits and inventory control reviews of Kalispel Tribal properties.
  • Acts as custodian of evidence and may be required to provide statements to the Gaming Commission and other law enforcement agencies.
  • Reports procedure deviations and/or deceptive activity of employees or patrons to the Operations department and KTGA Administration.
  • Make routine walking tours of the Casino floor looking for suspicious or unusual activities.
  • Must learn, comprehend and comply with all Company policies and procedures, MIC's, Gaming Regulations and Regulation 31 requirements. Ensure control/protection of company assets.
  • May be required to be a panelist for the Internal Review Hearings.
  • May be asked to provide testimony in Tribal, State, or Federal Court proceedings.
  • Promotes a positive and harmonious work environment by contributing to team effort.
  • Gathers surveillance and other related information in response to Tribal Legal Office requests for tort claims, allegations of employee misconduct, over-service of liquor issues and other matters that could greatly impact Tribal assets and the public's perception of the Tribe.
  • Facilitates the communication and sharing of information between TGA Agents and other Law Enforcement Agencies.
  • Assists the TGA Shift Manager in supervising the Tribal Gaming agents on shift. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training team members; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Responsible for maintaining a good attendance record.
