About The Position

The Codest is an international technology software company with partner tech hubs in Poland. The company delivers global IT solutions and projects, with expertise in web development, cloud engineering, DevOps, and quality. Its customer- and people-first approach emphasizes customer needs and a collaborative environment for employees. The company is seeking an experienced Solution and Fullstack Engineer for an AI-first engineering team working on solutions for a leading financial group in Japan. The role contributes to the development and evolution of a banking application that serves as a cross-asset post-trade execution platform. The platform integrates with third-party trade-matching and settlement services, processes large volumes of financial data, and provides features such as Trade Blotter and position reporting. The engineer will work across the application stack, using Python or Python and Java for backend development and JavaScript with modern frontend frameworks. The position involves taking ownership of end-to-end solutions, contributing to architecture decisions, and translating business requirements into scalable technical implementations. AI-powered development tools, coding assistants, and automation are incorporated into everyday workflows to support efficient delivery, code quality, and problem-solving. The role is remote and pays PLN 120–155 per hour.

Requirements

Advanced English communication skills, written and spoken, for collaboration with international clients and teams.
At least 5 years of commercial experience in software engineering, preferably in fullstack or backend-oriented roles.
Strong commercial experience with Python.
Practical experience with JavaScript and frontend development using modern frameworks such as React, Vue.js, or Angular.
Solid understanding of fullstack application architecture, including frontend-backend integration, REST APIs, and distributed systems.
Strong PostgreSQL experience, including database design, query optimization, indexes, views, functions, and triggers.
Good knowledge of object-oriented programming, software design principles, and clean code practices.
Hands-on experience with AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code, or similar solutions.
An AI-first mindset and openness to using AI tools, automation, and emerging technologies throughout the software development lifecycle.
Ability to approach technical challenges from a solution-oriented perspective, considering business requirements, scalability, performance, and maintainability.
Experience with CI/CD processes, version control systems, and modern software development practices.
Strong problem-solving skills, independence, and willingness to take ownership of technical solutions.

Experience developing applications in banking, fintech, or financial services.
Familiarity with AWS or other cloud platforms.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain end-to-end fullstack solutions using Python or Python and Java on the backend and JavaScript on the frontend.
Build and enhance modern, responsive user interfaces and integrate them with backend services and APIs.
Develop scalable backend services, APIs, and application components.
Own technical solutions from requirements analysis and architecture design through implementation and deployment.
Work with PostgreSQL, including designing and optimizing database structures, queries, functions, triggers, and views.
Use AI-powered development tools and AI-assisted coding practices to improve development efficiency, code quality, and delivery speed.
Explore opportunities to incorporate AI-driven automation and innovative solutions into engineering processes.
Build rapid prototypes, validate technical concepts, and deliver solutions in a fast-paced environment.
Participate in technical planning, solution design, testing, code reviews, and architectural discussions.
