About The Position

Navitas is an industry leader in the digital transformation space, serving clients in the commercial, federal, and state and local markets. They are problem solvers providing award-winning technology solutions to drive digital acceleration. This role involves working on a Java/Spring Boot-based environment and transitioning core backend services to Python. The ideal candidate will have strong Java experience and proficiency in Python, capable of building new services while modernizing existing ones.

Requirements

7–10 years of backend development experience
Strong hands-on experience with Java + Spring Boot
Solid experience with Python and at least one major framework: Django, FastAPI/Flask
Strong knowledge of SQL & PostgreSQL
Experience with AWS services and CI/CD pipelines
Hands-on experience with test automation (PyTest, JUnit, Selenium, etc.)
Experience building REST APIs and microservices
Ability to work in an onsite, fast-paced environment

Responsibilities

Work on existing backend services built in Java + Spring Boot
Lead the transition and development of new services using Python (Django / FastAPI / Flask)
Build scalable REST APIs and microservices in both Java and Python during the migration phase
Design and optimize database schemas using PostgreSQL
Implement and maintain AWS CI/CD pipelines for automated deployments
Develop and maintain test automation frameworks for both Java and Python codebases
Collaborate with architects, DevOps, QA, and product teams to ensure smooth migration
Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize application performance across both stacks
Ensure best practices in security, cloud-native development, and code quality
